Mike Elliott has started work on his newest full-length album with producer/engineer Josh Antonuccio and a cadre of local rock royalty.  Matt Box, Erick Coleman, and others will join Mike in his first studio album.  Be prepared for trademark musical greatness from Mike and a smattering of insanely great songs.  Here’s a great story from DoneWaiting about his new album.

Great love for Ohio bands and Athens in Paste Magazine! Southeast Engine and Old Hundred both are completing fantastic new releases for 2012 in Athens,Ohio at 3 Elliott Studio and are listed as 10 bands to watch in this month’s edition of Paste Magazine, amongst some other truly awesome Ohio acts.

Columbus OH’s own Joey Hebdo is starting work on his newest full-length album with producer/engineer Josh Antonuccio.  The two of them worked together on this last solo effort “Prosciutto” in 2009.  This new album will feature guest appearances from the likes of members of The Floorwalkers, The Spikedrivers, Megan Palmer, and other.  Look for a release later in the year.

3 Elliott Studio’s newest addition, engineer Travis Lautenschlager, will begin work this weekend on the newest release by Ohio’s own Fenrir, a band that continues to show how to serve up manic death metal with style and massive energy.

Josh Antonuccio heads back down to Austin, TX for South by Southwest this year. Once again, there are lots of great 3 Elliott Studio alumni performing at SXSW this year, including a set by the marvelous Adam Torres.  Be sure to follow all the action online!

Columbus OH’s own Old Hundred has completed tracking with Josh Antonuccio and is now beginning work on mixing their sophomore record.  This album is a wonderful combination of their trademark songwriting and delightful vocal arrangements.

Engineer Josh Richardson began work this weekend on demos for area songwriter Jim Wells.  He’ll be completing tracking with Chris Weibel at Media Design House, doing drum tracking here at 3 Elliott Studio and doing overdubs in Guysville.

Athens’ own Michelle McGrath stopped in to do backing vocals for the new JT and The Clouds project alongside of Chicago’s highly acclaimed JT Nero. JT and The Clouds have garnered national acclaim for their mix of smart pop and blues-driven swing.  Look for this anticipated release in 2012.
